Living in Dark Ages!

Very busy with work these days, so don't get much free time. My apologies on this behalf. Don't have much time with the Budget and the whole hoopla, but am real anguished and angry at the state of affairs in my country.

On one hand, Our PM speaks of inclusive growth in a firm and steady tone but then on the other hand the ground reality is so different that it seems like India is still in the Dark Ages.

Just two points i want to make- India is still a corrupt, egoistic, non-responsible democracy. Yes, we are marching forward to progress, but the leaps and bounds are still nowhere palpable.

The esteemed Beti of Dalits, Sister Mayawati (P.S- wonder how her parents named her so aptly) is so busy ego-massaging herself that her parameters of development are pretty unique- The MIT (Mayawati Immortal Treaty) has been signed beneath tables... Her statues and that of Late Mr. Kansiram and hordes of elephants.. all wild-spirited like her adorn all of Uttar Pradesh. Luckily, we have chosen not to give her a role more national than that or else very publicly harbouring PM aspirations, it wouldn't have come as a surprise if Ms. Jadoo nagri had been immortalised at very nook and corner of the country. Even more, corners would have been created to place her Majesty at every possible location.

Like history has said, development work doesn't come cheap. Ms. Mayawati has spent just a meagre Rs. 2000 crore in these "cultural activities". You see, the UP Chief Minister is sensitive to not only humans, but also birds and animals. For if granted, soon there will be massive inauguration ceremonies followed by the grand opening for public, only our dear pigeons will find a new destination too. Talk of sadistic satisfaction!

Compare this massive CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT with something as worthless as the Bandra-Worli sea link which shall reduce the travel time of Mumbaities by only 1 hour in peak time, the steel wires of which can wrap the whole earth.... well Maya's creation of Utopia comes pricey at 2000 crores but the Mumbai sea-link, which in reality is a definite step to good governance comes cheaper at 1,650 Crore. Need i say something more of inclusive growth?

To say that such kind of behaviour is so shocking that word fail to describe the intensity and magnitude. It is such a enormous national waste that it makes me feel that either Ms Maya is too clever or maybe the fault is hidden somewhere within us. Our unwillingness to get involved coupled with the dirt behind politics is the root cause.

I pray not but fear that finally maybe the mockingbird has been sacrificed, while all the blue jay's hoot along.
